Dana Nevedal, Ph.D.

Originally from Michigan, I completed my doctoral studies in clinical psychology at Wayne State University in Detroit. Before going into private practice in Albany, I trained and worked at the University of Michigan’s Spine Program, West Virginia University’s Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, VA Connecticut / Yale Department of Psychiatry, and the University at Albany’s Counseling and Psychological Services Center. I have specialized training in chronic pain management, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT). My research and publications have focused on chronic pain management, traumatic stress in first responders, medication adherence, and CBT interventions. I am a member of both the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS) and the American Psychological Association Division 38 - Health Psychology.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors in the beautiful Adirondack and Green Mountains during all four seasons, reading short stories, and attending performances by local independent theater companies. I value time spent with family and close friends of both the two- and four-legged variety. I do also strive to practice mindfulness outside of work.
